Attorney Shelton has 13 years of experience  as a lawyer, practicing in the arena of financial institutions, creditors' rights, real estate closings and litigation.  Her clients have included the "big five" banks, Fortune 100 and 500 companies, and local businesses.

She conducts real estate transactions and loan closings.  She also litigates consumer lending violations, real property title/boundary disputes, property conveyance, zoning, permitting, easements, foreclosure, tax sales, eviction, garnishment, and debt collection matters.  She has particular expertise in correcting title defects and disputes, having served as claims counsel for three of the nation's leading title insurers.  She has acted as relationship counsel to multiple financial institutions and government-sponsored enterprises (GSE's).  She was amongst the first attorneys in the state to identify a state-wide defect in the security instrument of a national institution, obtaining multiple favorable judgments on their behalf to avert considerable financial losses.  She has resolved thousands of defaulted consumer loans on behalf of lenders by negotiating workable solutions with debtors in financial crisis and harsh life situations.

Attorney Shelton also provides drafting, review and negotiation services for many types of documents, including corporate entity formation and dissolution, title documents, contracts, commercial contracts and leases. She develops strategies to manage and mitigate risk—helping clients comply with state and federal law in order to meet their business objectives.  Attorney Shelton is licensed to practice in Georgia, Tennessee, the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, and the U.S. Court of Appeals.
